NdFeB Magnets with Well?Pronounced Anisotropic Magnetic Properties Made by Electric Current?Assisted Sintering

Electric current-assisted sintering (ECAS) technologies are highly promising for processing of NdFeB magnets. Due to the combination direct Joule heating and application external load, even powders, whose particle size distribution morphology not optimum conventional powder like melt-spun powders or magnet scrap, can be easily sintered high densities. A systematic study is done demonstrate potential field-assisted technique/spark plasma (FAST/SPS) flash spark (flash SPS) powders. Melt-spun, commercial (Magnequench MQU-F) used as starting material. Its platelet-like shape makes this extremely difficult sinter by methods. This clearly reveals that especially in case SPS pressure with short cycle times enables achieve well-pronounced anisotropic magnetic properties without need subsequent upset forging. Optimized parameters applied scrap broad distribution, demonstrating general ECAS recycling waste materials. Finally, results benchmarked respect established electrodischarge (EDS), another technology very cycling time.
